Good for the price – I’m using this on my Audi SQ5 OEM crossbars. It barely fits over the bars and I was concerned I’d tear the foam getting them on, it was that tight. But I didn’t. Seats my Wilderness Systems 14 ft kayak well. I don’t know how it will hold up after weather exposure and multiple times on and off the rack.

Exactly what you need – I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The top of my car has what I call a “shark fin” radio unit. So I had to make sure my kayak was above the fin. These fit well onto my aftermarket roof rack cross bars. Raised the kayak just high enough over and in general did really well. I took them off after I moved the Kayak and the look to be made of a foam that will last. Overall great buy.

Got 2, lost (then found 1) – We were driving to a nearby pond with 2 kayaks on the roof of our minivan. One of the kayaks had the clip on foam pad type pads and then we place these beside them to put the 2nd kayak sideways onto. Has worked all season up until last week. When we were leaving the pond, we lost one. Luckily we drove back and found it but not sure how it happened?

No roof rack, no problem! – Since there was no roof rack on my new car, I had to find a way to transport my kayak. These foam blocks are just the thing! I was initially concerned that they wouldn’t give the kayak enough lift to clear the car’s antenna, but it does just fine. Even better, I strap them onto the car first with one set of straps, place the kayak on top, then strap the kayak down, as well. Strapping the blocks down first makes it easier for me to load the kayak myself. There’s definitely no need to agonize over not having a roof rack. These blocks get the job done!

Works well once installed. Not great value for money. – I use these foam blocks only for local transport of my kayak and haven’t tried them for travel on higher speed limit roads, so I can’t comment on their suitability for that.

So easy to use, easy to store, no difficult installation – My BMW roof rack has wide oval shaped bars, so the choices I have for foam cradles are limited. These fit over the BMW bars, go on lickety split, come off easily when it’s time, and the kayaks can be strapped down hard enough that they don’t budge. I liked them enough that I bought a second set for when I load 2 yaks. Even waited when they were out of stock.
